A quick behind the scenes of KylieCupCakes.

It's been a long while since Ive done a blog post my passion for photography has slightly taken over most of my free time. Anyway making up for lost time.
I thought I'd give you all a sneak peek of how the photos in KylieCupCakes where created.
After baking the cupcakes and decorating look for fabric, pillowcase decorative paper in which I can use as a background for underneath the new cupcake design. In the photo you can see two possible choices one being a piece of patchwork fabric the other is a Laura Ashley pillow slip. I try to choose patterns that match my cupcake designs and don't distract too much. Apologies for the bad the photos it was raining when I did these photos and so used the pop up flash which I find is never flattering.

In this photo you can see I've place the cupcakes onto a piece of patchwork fabric. I always group the cupcakes to make a rectangle this seems to look better in the photographs!

Once the cupcakes are in place on the fabric, paper etc.. now its time to get out the camera.

As you can see in the photographs, I use a piece of white poster board behind the cupcakes to reflect the light. You'd be amazed at the difference it makes.

When shooting the cupcakes I use a large aperture which allows the background to blur.

Viola the end result!
